Both series have introduced audiences to a new era of horror television, with Midnight Mass set to continue Flanagan’s reign. The Midnight Mass creator also directed Hill House's companion series, The Haunting of Bly Manor, featuring most of the same cast, and said to be inspired by Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw.
